Randall House

The Randall House, one of Pine’s original homesteads, is a popular breakfast and lunch restaurant. Owned by Barbara Frazin-O’Connor and her husband, Patrick, the restaurant retains much of the house’s old charm, and the homemade confections keep the Randall House bustling with Pine residents and visitors alike. Barbara says she bought the house because she wanted to start a café: “The location, to me, was just perfect, and the idea of having it in an old house was just too cute to pass up.”

How has the Randall House evolved?
The original part of the house was built in 1880. It was a two-room log cabin, and over the years, as the family grew, the cabin was expanded, and more bedrooms and a kitchen were added. Today, the bedrooms are set up as dining rooms.

Describe the Randall House.
When you first come in, what people notice is our pastry case, where you can see all of our homemade pies and home-baked treats: everything from cookies to pies to bear claws to muffins. We bake all of our pastries from scratch. We have a little seating area so people can feel at home. Throughout the house, we have some artwork by local artists, along with various antiques and collectibles: old scales and muffin tins, as well as a collection of salt and pepper shakers.

What separates the Randall House from other restaurants in Pine?
I think we offer not just comfort food, but a comfortable place to relax. It’s not like the typical diner food, and it’s kind of a place for the community to get together and meet with their friends over a cup of coffee and have homemade food. We also welcome pets when it’s warm enough to sit outside. It’s nice to sit out among the trees and enjoy the small town. We like to treat our guests as if they’re family visiting from out of town.

The Randall House is located at 3821 State Route 87 in Pine. For more information, call 928-476-4077.
