Winner must register for a workshop located in Arizona (excluding any rafting trip) by February 15, 2010. Space is subject to availability at the time of registration.
Workshop must be taken by December 31, 2010.
Inclusion of transportation, meals and lodging during a workshop are workshop dependent, so winner should check the published itinerary for what is and is not included before reserving a space on a desired trip. Please see the Friends of Arizona Highways website (http://friendsofazhighways.com/) for workshop details. Winner is solely responsible for all other expenses not specifically set forth in the itinerary, including, but not limited to, gratuities, souvenirs, and any other incidentals.
This prize entitles winner only to the same considerations as other workshop participants as outlined in the itinerary.
Friends of Arizona Highways reserves the right to make changes to the published workshop itinerary.
Transportation to and from the workshop starting location is not included and is the responsibility of the winner.
Cameras and related equipment are not included.
Lodging and meals prior to the start and after the conclusion of the workshop are not included.
Companions must pay full workshop price.
No refunds or credit will be given if the winner is not able to attend the workshop for which they register. The space is forfeited unless the winner chooses to appoint an alternate attendee.
This award may not be sold to any third party.
If the winner's selected workshop is cancelled by Friends of Arizona Highways for any reason, Friends of Arizona Highways will work with the winner in selecting an alternate workshop. Friends of Arizona Highways will not be liable for expenses incurred such as airfare or accommodations and recommend the winner purchase travel insurance to cover these expenses.
Travel insurance is not included. If the workshop is cancelled by the winner and they have obtained travel insurance, the agency will be informed the workshop was a prize and no funds may be paid out for the workshop portion of their trip.
Most workshops are not considered strenuous, however winner should be able to walk or climb to workshop locations in areas where there are no dedicated paths, and must be able to carry their own equipment. If winner has, or has had in the past, any medical condition or required medications, they must be noted on a health questionnaire they receive at time of registration. It is extremely important for Friends of Arizona Highways to be aware of any health condition before the workshop begins. If winner has any concerns about their ability to participate on a particular workshop, call the Friends of Arizona Highways office before reserving a space.
The winner will be required to sign a Health Questionnaire and Liability Release. In event of noncompliance, Arizona Highways may select an alternate winner.
Employees of Arizona Highways magazine, the Arizona Department of Transportation and Friends of Arizona Highways are ineligible for this prize.

The Rules:
All images must be made in Arizona. Each participant may submit one entry for each of the four categories: Landscape, People/Culture, Macro photography (close-up), Indigenous wildlife (no pet or livestock images will be accepted) for a total of four photographs. Photographs must be submitted digitally as JPEG files. Entries will be accepted from August 19, 2009 until November 15, 2009. Participants should supply photograph information to include subject, location, camera type and exposure settings, along with any other information on the submission form.
The Terms:
Arizona Highways Online Photography Contest is open to amateur and professional photographers except Friends of Arizona Highways employees and volunteers, employees of Arizona Highways magazine, Arizona Department of Transportation and members of their immediate families. Any images not made in the state of Arizona will be disqualified. By submitting images to the contest, participants grant Arizona Highways magazine the right to publish their images in Arizona Highways magazine or on its Web site and in any promotional material related to the contest (i.e. press releases, future photography contest announcements) for no other consideration beyond photographer credit. Photographers retain copyrights to their submitted photographs. First-, second- and third-place winners will be announced in the September 2010 issue of Arizona Highways and on our Web Site. Only the winners will be notified. Incomplete submissions will be disqualified.

Our policy is to provide a 20% estimated tax payment to the prize recipient along with the prize, if the prize value is greater than $600. Both prize and estimated tax payment are IRS reportable.
