Longtime Arizona artist Merrill Mahaffey has an art show coming up in March at the Marshall Gallery of Fine Art.
Time Through the Canyon celebrates Mahaffey's paintings of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River. The special show will be March 12 at 7 p.m. at the gallery, 7106 E. Main Street in Scottsdale.
“I’ve followed the Colorado River throughout my life,” Mahaffey says in a news release. “I’ve studied its shapes and shadows, light and reflections with a keen eye. I hope my travels are interesting to people -- to let them see how an artist looks at the world and give them some rarely-seen insights into the gorgeous vistas of our own backyard.”
Mahaffey's work is exhibited in several collections and has appeared in Arizona Highways and other publications. In 2013, Mahaffey participated in a Q&A about his fascination with the West.
