With Independence Day around the corner, many people will be purchasing fireworks to celebrate the holiday. But keep in mind that fireworks use is not allowed in all parts of the state.

Wildfire risk and dry conditions have led several cities to ban the use of fireworks this year. Cities like Cave Creek and Carefree have even canceled their annual fireworks shows and are opting to use drones as an alternative.

While the sale of fireworks is allowed in Arizona between June 24 and July 6, not all fireworks are legal. For details on the fireworks regulations, click here. Before purchasing fireworks, make sure the city where you plan to use them has not implemented any fire restrictions.

Fire agencies are encouraging people to be careful with personal firework use, and to dispose of them properly after they are done.

Many cities may also alter or cancel their fireworks celebrations leading up to the holiday, so it is advised to double-check the celebration plans before heading out to an event.
