Yesterday, we told you about the upcoming season at the Grand Canyon's North Rim. But down at the South Rim, Grand Canyon National Park officials are hoping to draw attention to a shuttle-bus route that could save visitors a lot of time.

The Tusayan Route runs between May 23 and September 25. It makes four stops in Tusayan, a few miles south of the park, before heading to the Grand Canyon Visitor Center. The shuttle buses run every 20 minutes from 8 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. Like the shuttle buses in the park, the Tusayan Route is free, but you must show a park pass before boarding. Passes can be purchased at various businesses in Tusayan or at park entrance stations.

Pamela Edwards, who oversees Grand Canyon's transportation system, says that during the park's busy summer months, vehicle lines at entrance stations are long and parking on the South Rim can be hard to find. "We would like to see more visitors taking the Tusayan Route when it is operating and taking advantage of this service," she says.
