A Tucson company that offers pedal-powered tours of the city's bars is getting in on the latest trend: Pokémon Go.

The smartphone-based game, which entices players to wander their neighborhoods and other locales in search of whimsical creatures to capture, has caught fire this month. Now, Arizona Party Bike is hoping to appeal to Pokémon Go players with the Pokémon Pub Crawl.

On the tour, up to 15 people pedal a "party bike" (pictured) to several Tucson bars and as many "Pokestops" as possible. The two-hour tour costs $25, not including drinks at the bars, which will be offering specials to tour participants. Riders can bring their own drinks on the party bike as well.

A "certified bike party pilot" steers the party bike, so there's no chance of getting distracted by a Pikachu and riding into traffic.

The tour is available every day from now through the end of August, with 7 p.m. rides every day and 9:30 p.m. rides Thursdays through Saturdays. Robert Mayer, president of Arizona Party Bike, says the company also plans to launch a Pokémon Pub Crawl in Scottsdale.

This certainly seems safer than trying to catch a Pokémon from behind the wheel of your car — which enough people were doing that the Arizona Department of Transportation had to issue a warning about it.
