Entrance fees for Grand Canyon National Park would increase under a park proposal that's now up for public comment.

Currently, the park charges $25 for a seven-day pass for a single vehicle, but that would increase to $30 under the proposal. An annual pass would increase from $50 to $60, while the $12 pass for individuals and motorcycles would increase to $15 for individuals and $25 for motorcycles.

The park said in a statement that the fee increase would be used for visitor services, repairs and restoration, park programs and resource protection. Entrance fees at the park were last changed in 1997, when the cost of a seven-day vehicle pass increased from $20 to $25.

The proposal is now in a 60-day public-engagement period. You can comment on it by emailing [email protected].
