It's October, which in Arizona means the season of autumn leaves is in full swing. Here are a few tools to help you find the best colors.

The U.S. Forest Service's Fall Colors page has a nice roundup of links to Arizona's national forests, where you can get up-to-date information about each of those areas. Click here to visit the Forest Service site.

For the Flagstaff area, peak viewing season is usually right around now. You can visit the Flagstaff Convention and Visitors Bureau's "Leafometer" page to see how trees in Flagstaff, Oak Creek Canyon, the Inner Basin and Arizona Snowbowl are progressing.

Finally, if you're looking for some good hikes to experience fall color, we have a few suggestions: the Houston Brothers Trail east of Payson; the North Wilson Trail near Sedona; the Pole Knoll Trail near Greer; and the Parsons Trail in Sycamore Canyon.
