A restaurant that's well known to longtime Arizona Highways readers soon will begin offering fresh-baked cookies and other sweet treats.

As the White Mountain Independent reported last week, Snowflake restaurant Celebrations is planning to add a "confectaurant" on May 1. The restaurant's owner, Julie Hensley, is turning the front area of the business into a sweets shop filled with "just about any sweet treat you can imagine," according to the newspaper.

Hensley says she'll fill the shelves of the sweets shop with her own creations, along with those of other bakers and food artisans in the area. The sweets shop will stay open in the afternoons, after the restaurant part of Celebrations has closed, she says.

Celebrations also is adding some new items to the restaurant menu, Hensley told the Independent.

Arizona Highways readers might remember Celebrations (then called Celebrations of Generations) from our April 2011 Best Restaurants issue. If you'd like to pay the restaurant a visit, it's since moved to 113 Main Street in Snowflake.
