If you're a fan of Arizona Highways' semi-annual Then & Now feature, in which we look at how historical locations around Arizona have changed, you're going to love this.

The Library of Congress recently released a set of photos of Tucson's Mission San Xavier del Bac. The photos were made in the 1940s as part of the Historic American Buildings Survey, a New Deal program.

Arizona Daily Star photographer A.E. Araiza re-created the photos in the same day, making his photos from the same vantage points as the historical ones. You can view all nine historical photos, paired with Araiza's present-day versions, in a slideshow on the Daily Star's website.
