From the issue: "'Spring Paints a Desert Hillside' by Chuck Abbott. Photograph taken in the rugged hillside terrain near Willcox, in Cochise County. The photographer, whose philosophy of photography is this: 'You have to go back for the good ones!' went back four different seasons to get this study. When he first saw this area he visualized the scene with spring poppies coloring up the scene, but it took four years for him to get what he wanted."
