Throwback Thursday: Arizona Highways, November 1950

From the issue, whose theme was Mexico, the Enchanted Land: "'Jarabe Tapatio' by Ray Manley. The Mexican Hat Dance originated in the state of Jalisco. It is a gay, lively folk dance, demanding intricate footwork, and is one of the Mexican dances which has not found its way, like la rapsa and la bamba, into the dance repertoire of Americans. The dancers and the spectators in the photograph wear traditional fiesta costumes."
