Route 30, Globe-Showlow National Forest Highway Packard Contracting Company, Phoenix, Arizona, has contract for construction of a bridge across Showlow Creek on Section B of Arizona Forest Highway Route 30, Globe-Showlow, and grading and placing subgrade reinforcement on Section C of the same route. California-Arizona Federal Lands Route 8 Wickes Engineering and Construction Company, Des Moines, Iowa, has contract for construction of Parker Bridge and approaches. Length of project 0.84 miles. Work is 84% complete. W. K. Bertken, resident engineer.

National Park Projects: J. A. Casson, Phoenix, Arizona, has contract for placing bituminous treated surfacing on Grand Canyon Route 8. Length of project 8.639 miles. Work is about 20% complete. V. G. Watson, resident engineer.

G. Clay Gates, Thermopolis, Wyoming has contract for installation of 17,000 feet of metal plate guard rail on the Cameron Desert View Approach to Grand Canyon National Park. Length of project 28 miles. Work is about 60% complete. C. F. Storm, resident engineer.

Skousen Brothers, Albuquerque, New Mexico, has contract for grading, base course, and light surface application of oil on a portion of Grand Canyon Route 4 and Sections C, D, E, and F of the Jacobs Lake Approach to the North Rim. Length of project 31.93 miles. Work was started on May 12, 1937 and is about 7% complete. C. R. Brashears, resident engineer.

Pearson & Dickerson have contract for grading and placing subgrade reinforcement on Section C of Petrified Forest National Monument Route 1, the Painted Desert Rim Drive. Length 4.84 miles. F. A. Bonnell, resident engineer.

BIDS OPENED Bids were opened on May 11, 1937 for grading a portion of Section & of Arizona Forest Highway Route 19, Clifton-Alpine. Length of project 2.905 miles. Lee Moor Contracting Company submitted the low bid of $46,257.20.

BIDS TO BE OPENED Bids will be received until 10:00 a. m. June 1, 1937 for grading Section E of Arizona Forest Highway Route 3, Flagstaff-Clints Well approximately 28 miles south of Flagstaff. Length of project 3.464 miles.

Bids will be received until 10:00 a. m. June 8, 1937 for placing a bituminous treatment on Sections A and B of Arizona Forest Highway Route 28, Fredonia-Houserock Valley. Length of project 13.264 miles.
