The construction of one 3 span 10'x8'x82' concrete box culvert on a 30 degree skew; one 10'x8'x40' concrete box culvert; one 10'x7'x44.5' concrete box culvert; one 6'x7'x78.5' concrete box culvert; one 6'x5'x51' concrete box culvert and other miscellaneous work on approximately 4.72 miles of the Flagstaff-Fredonia Highway. The construction of one 10'x8'-x55.5' concrete box culvert; one 6'x6'x-45.75' concrete box culvert; one 6'x4'x47' concrete box culvert; one 5'x5'x87.5' concrete box culvert and other miscellaneous work on approximately 9.96 miles of the Flagstaff-Fredonia Highway, beginning near the town of Fredonia and extending southeasterly. N. G. Hill and Company, Phoenix, Arizona, has a contract for the grading and draining the roadway over a new located line. Placing imported borrow and select material over the roadway construction-ting about ten 6'x7'x29.5' concrete box culverts and other miscellaneous work incidental to the construction of approxi-mately 9.8 miles of the Showlow-Holbrook Highway, beginning near Showlow and extending northerly. W. E. Bondurant, Roswell, New Mexico has a contract for the construction of a bridge across the Little Colorado river about 2.5 miles east of Winslow. The sub-structure will consist of 8 intermediate piers and 2 abutment piers built on concrete piles driven approximately 55 ft. below streambed. The superstructure will consist of a steel plate girder deck with a 26' clear roadway and approximately 766' long, and will replace the present steel truss bridge which is 14' clear roadway and 620' long. Tanner Construction Company, Phoenix, Arizona, has a contract for the fur-nishing and placing of a mixed base material, and the placing of a mixed bi-tuminous surface, using SC-4 road oil, road mix, and other miscellaneous work incidental to the construction of approxi-mately 11 miles of the Bridgeport-Montezuma Castle Highway, beginning at the junction with the Cottownood-Sedona Highway about 3 miles east of Cottonwood and extending southeasterly and is to be completed by October 31st, 1939. Packard Contracting Company, Phoenix, Arizona, has a contract for grading and draining the roadway over a re-located line, placing an aggregate base course and mixed bituminous surface, using an SC-6 road oil, road mix. The construction of one 2 span 10'x8'x29.5 concrete box culvert, the widening of 2 existing bridges to a 28' clear roadway, the widening of 3 smaller size concrete box culverts and other miscellaneous work incidental to the construction of approximately 5.74 miles of the Springerville-New Mexico State Line Highway. Beginning about 9 miles east of Springerville and extending easterly to the New Mexico State Line. Construction started April 26th, 1939, and is to be completed October 31st, 1939. Route 17, Snowflake-Pinetop, Sitgreaves National Forest W. E. Orr, Phoenix, Arizona, completed a contract for grading, draining and placing borrow backfill on a portion of Section B of Arizona Forest Route 17, Snowflake-Pinetop, on April 20, 1939. Project begins approximately 2 miles north of Pinetop and extends 3.175 miles northwest to a point approximately 2 miles north of Lakeside. C. H. Clark, resident engineer.
Route 28, Fredonia-Houserock Valley Highway, Kaibab National Forest Oswald Brothers, Contractors, Los Angeles, California, have the contract for grading, draining and placing crusher run rock top course with a light bituminous treatment on portions of Section C and D of Arizona Forest Highway Route 28, Fredonia-Houserock Valley. Project begins at Jacob Lake and extends 11 miles northerly towards Fredonia. Work was started April 17, 1939 and is about 5% complete. C. R. Brashears, resident engineer.
Route 33, Catalina Mountain Highway, Coronado National Forest Project consists of grading and draining of a highway on the south side of the Catalina Mountains, between a point approximately 17 miles northeast of Tucson, Arizona and Soldier Camp Ranger Station near the summit. The project has been completed from the foot of the mountain to a point 9.5 miles toward the summit. H. H. Woodman, resident engineer.

Route 19, Clifton-Alpine Highway, Crook National Forest All Arizona Engineering and Construction Company, Clifton, Arizona, has the contract for grading, draining and placing cushion material on a portion of Section B of Arizona Forest Highway Route 19, Clifton-Alpine. Project begins approximately 45 miles north of Clifton and extends northerly 6.115 miles. Work was suspended for the winter on December 14, 1938 when about 73% complete. E. F. Route 28, Fredonia-Houserock Valley Highway, Kaibab National Forest Fisher Contracting Company, Phoenix, Arizona, has the contract for grading, draining and placing base course surfacing with light bituminous treatment on portions of Section C and D of Arizona Forest Highway Route 28, Fredonia-Houserock Valley. Project is located between points approximately 3 and 16 miles north of Jacob Lake. The length of roadway between these points covered by the project is 6.137 miles. Jacob-Lake Rim Approach to Grand Canyon National Park Fisher Contracting Company, Phoenix, Arizona, has the contract for grading, draining and placing base course surfacing with light bituminous treatment on a section of the Jacob Lake-North Rim Approach Road to Grand Canyon National Park. Project begins at Jacob Lake and extends south 1.278 miles. Work was suspended for the winter on November 23, 1938 when about 95% complete. C. R. Brashears, resident engineer.
