TYPICAL Sunday breakfast for many Arizona citizens would be toast, coffee, grapefruit (Arizona grapefruit, of course, the best in the world) and Reg Manning's BIG PARADE in the Arizona Republic, Phoenix morning newspaper.

The BIG PARADE has been coming to our door step here in Arizona for many years, bringing a kindly, cheery, good neighborly Sabbath greeting, recording in cartoon form the parade of passing events in the queen state of the west. Making his introduction to Arizona through a small cartoon, good neighbor ARIZONA'S SIR GALAHAD OF THE INKWELL. A PROPHET APPRECIATED AND ADMIRED VERY MUCH IN HIS OWN LAND.

By RAYMOND CARLSON Editor Arizona Highways Reg Manning developed a strip, then caught and held Arizona's fancy with a full page current events cartoon, and for the past several years he has been splashing the Nation with editorial cartoons of such devastating penetration and perspicuity that they won for him serious consideration this year for the Pulitizer prize in the field of editorial cartooning. His talents have of late gone into the production of a book, "Reg Manning's Cartoon Guide of Arizona" for which we sound trumpets for the trumpets he sounds in his charming, novel presentation of scenic pictorial Arizona. Consistently this Sir Galahad of the Inkwell has sung the praises of Arizona, and per haps no other Arizona citizen has been more loyal to the state, or more deserving of the praise prophets deserve but seldom get in their own country. Very recently, it seems, Reg has gone in for dresses. The Reg Manning cartoon has been incorporated into a dress pattern which should be quite modish in these parts before this story is read. Reg and Bob Goldwater, enterprising impresario of Goldwater's in Phoenix, veritably the "Schiaparelli of the Desert," put their heads together with the result: a cartoon goes into fabrics. Three designs are being used: Rollicking Rodeos, Laughing Cactus, and Grand Canyon Trail. Novel and rather nice. Reg Manning Cartoon Dresses should be quite the thing hereabouts. And what about the chap whose pen and brush and inkpot are making him quite some shucks in this state and whose fame is spreading far beyond Arizona's borders?
