Yours sincerely ...

Gentlemen of the Fourth Estate: Unquestionably you are editing one of the finest state publications of its kind in existence. It is a delightful treat to receive each and every copy.

Dudley Brown, Automobile Editor, The Seattle Times, Seattle, Washington.

ARIZONA HIGHWAYS will go calling each month on Mr. Brown, and we hope it will always be a "delightful treat."

I have noticed several copies of your excellent little magazine around our office here and would like to have a regular copy for myself. Enroll me as a subscriber for a year and send along your bill. Hope you can start me off with the October issue; have seen the September copy.

Jerome Parker, Sunday Department, The New York Times, New York, N. Y.

Pleased are we to know that ARIZONA HIGHWAYS is noticed in the offices of The New York Times. Note to Mr. Parker: The magazine will come to you each month, but never, never a bill.

If you are ever so unfortunate as to become exiled from Arizona and then have someone good enough to send you such an interesting and beautifully illustrated magazine as yours, you will then know some of my feeling for ARIZONA HIGHWAYS.

You may depend upon it that I will make good use of the copies I receive, and I should long ago have made acknowledgment of the magazine's worth in the broadcasts which I edit.

Garth Cate, Travel Promotion Manager, New York World-Telegram, New York, N. Y.

Best use of ARIZONA HIGHWAYS is that they can remind former Arizonans like Mr. Cate of home.

A Letter from Mr. Farley: I have your telegram of Oct. 9, requesting that the former post office of Christmas, Gila County, Arizona, be reestablished for one day in order that December copies of Arizona Highways may be dispatched from the Christmas post office this year.

According to the records of the Department, the post office of Christmas, Arizona, was discontinued on March 30, 1935, as it was unnecessary due to the limited patronage. Subsequent to the date of discontinuance, mail for the former patrons has been sent to the post office of Winkleman.

It is contrary to the practice of the Department to reestablish a post office for one day. Requests of this nature have been received from time to time from various organizations and philatelists and the Department has found it necessary to reply that from a postal service standpoint such action would be unwarranted.

I regret in view of the policy of the Department in such cases that I do not see my way clear to give favor able consideration to your request.

James M. Farley, Postmaster General, Washington, D. C.

Anyway, a Merry Christmas to you, Mr. Farley.

Vacation Notice: I have been a reader of your magazine for some time, enjoy it very much, and wish to congratulate you upon its excellence. Due to its influence, I am planning on spending my coming vacation (next month) in browsing around some of the places mentioned in your magazine. I anticipate covering a portion of northern Arizona.

A. B. Brown, Deputy County Surveyor, Riverside County, Riverside, California.

Fall and early winter is a most appropriate time for anyone to vacation in northern Arizona. May Mr. Brown find miles of happy traveling.

Note From a Library: I have wanted to thank you for the magazines which you send us each month, and to tell you that we appreciate this courtesy very much. We feel that this magazine is a credit to Arizona-or to any other state, for its beauty, history, and for the interesting information along so many lines. It is used constantly in our library. Thank you for it.

Beth L. Rogers, Librarian, Phoenix Union High Schools and Junior College, Phoenix, Arizona.

Our fondest hope that ARIZONA HIGHWAYS will always be of interest and import to school children of the state.

From South India: I should like to send this personal note of appreciation for the Arizona Highway magazines and for the copies that contained those beautiful etchings. They are beautiful and I enjoy them very much. It was most kind of you.

I don't need these to make me an "Arizona fan" for I am one alreadybut I shall sing its praises all the more now.Dr. Ida B. Scudder, Union Medical College for Women, Vallore, South India. (On board the S. S. President Garfield).

All the way to South India each month will go ARIZONA HIGHWAYS, bringing to Dr. Scudder and her friends a greeting from Arizona. The Wheel of Rotary: It was mighty thoughtful of you to send me the beautifully printed brochure entitled "Scenic Arizona" and the copies of the highway publication. I've enjoyed very much looking through this literature and reading some of the articles. I imagImagine that this literature is doing an unusually good job for you. It certainly does stir one's interest to the point where he would like very much to visit Arizona and enjoy some of the spots which are such asset to your state.Emerson Gause, Rotary International, Asst.-Secy, Central Office, Chicago, Illinois.

Through the thoughtfulness of Mr. Charles Munger of Phoenix, Rotarian Emerson Gause has received copies of Scenic Arizona and the magazine. His acknowledgments to Mr. Munger is worthy of note.

It occurred to me that I could use about five copies each of the August, September and October issues of your magazine in missionary work while I am here, and I would appreciate it if you would send me that many copies of each magazine to this address.

Isaac Barth, Grand Rapids, Michigan.

and sincerely to you... ARIZONA HIGHWAYS
