Neighborly Notes.
The busiest news center in the whole world is the London office of the New York Times. The head man's job in that office has been filled brilliantly for years by Mr. Ferdinand Kuhn, Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Kuhn (above) are wintering at Wickenburg with their children, taking life easy and absorbing a world of sunshine. Mr. Kuhn will commute between Wickenburg and New York this winter, assisting in the editorial chores of the Times.
This tall, lanky, pleasant chap is not, as appears at first sight, one of the boys just off the range. His is one of the most distinguished names in motion pictures-Gary Cooper. He has been out on the desert near Tucson this season making "The Westerner" for Mr. S. Goldwyn. When it comes to your town be sure to see it.
The arrival of good neighbor Clarence Budington Kelland for his winter's stay in Arizona is always a happy event. In early December Mr. Kelland came to town, and dropped in for a chat with Gov. Bob Jones. He presented the governor with a copy of the Saturday Evening Post containing the first installment of his historical novel, "Valley of the Sun." Be sure to read it We've all heard of the governor of New York and the mayor of New York City. Now meet the Lieutenantgovernor of New York, Charles Poletti, who with Mrs. Poletti has been staying at the Monte Vista ranch in Wickenburg. The Polettis indicate in this picture their complete satisfaction with Arizona a sunshine, Wickenburg brand.
Lou Nova, with Mrs. Nova, took time out from boxing wars to rest a spell at the Kay-El-Bar at Wickenburg early in the season. The Novas made themselves completely and quickly at home in the Arizona desert, and are planning to return shortly.
