PUEBLA de los Ángeles, capital of the state of Puebla, is 84 miles from México City, and is famous for its churches, its museums and its colonial architecture. The population of Puebla is 130,000, making it the fourth largest city in the Republic. Eight miles west of Puebla is Cholula, at one time the sacred city of the Aztecs, now a conglomeration of Indian villages picturesque ly situated in a beautiful and well-kept valley. The spires of many churches rise out of the valley around Cholula, and it is said that there is a church for every day of the year and for holidays and fiesta days.
