Roses in December
Roses in December

Christmas NINETEEN FORTY-FOUR Executive Office TO FRIENDS OF ARIZONA THE WORLD OVER:

Once more this season brings us promise. War and malevolence are fated to give way to peace and good will. A spring of human concord will succeed our winter of violence and destruction.

We in Arizona are sharing our resources in order that victory shall be secured. From our good earth come metals for the tools of triumph, foods and fruits to nourish ourselves and our fighting men. Thanks to our sunshine and bright weather, American boys and many sons of Britain, China and other allied nations have here become veteran pilots, carrying the fight from Arizona to the enemy.

And in our peaceful days ahead this frontier will again make a major contribution to the life of America. New opportunities in agriculture, in mining and in industry are across the threshold on which we now stand.

From the land of a bright future, where roses bloom in December, we send greetings this Christmas.
