The Engineer's Log DISTRICT, NO. 1 W. R. HUTCHINS ACTING DISTRICT ENGINEER FEDERAL AID PROJECTS UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Federal Aid Project No. 36-A reopened. Consisting of widening to 28 feet and drainage structures, was let to Henry Galbraith of Jerome on Sept. 11, 1926, and will be completed during April.

The above contract did not call for surfacing, immediate pavement being contemplated, but as a year should be allowed for complete settlement, plans are now being made to surface this entire section with at least 3 inches of selected surfacing material, to care for the heavy traffic that this section is subject to, until such times as the pavement construction starts. Percentage completed, 90 per cent.

Federal Aid Project No. 19-B reopened, was let to Henry Galbraith for construction of drainage structures and widening to 28 feet, and construction started on September 8, 1926, and is practically completed.

Federal Aid Project No. 19-B is a continuation of Federal Aid Project No. 36-B and the contract did not call for any surfacing, but plans are being made to surface about one-half of this section with 3 inches of selected surfacing material, the balance of this section being then natural surfacing material. Pavement is contemplated upon this section, just as soon as complete settlement takes place.
