"Bienvenidos a Sonora!"

There are seven ports of entry on our Sonora border-San Luis, Sonoyta, Lochiel, Sasabe, Agua Prieta, Naco and Nogales. Through these ports there passed in 1946 trade to the value of $59,700,000. Nogales is the largest port of entry on our bord-er, and in volume of business one of the largest on the U. S.-Mexico border. Pictured above is San Luis, south of Yuma. Nogales, Sonora, is one of principal ports of entry on the U. S.-Mexican border. American travelers, going to Hermosillo and other Sonora places, clear here. Town is shopping center.
Agua Prieta, viewed above, is just across the street from Dougas, Arizona. This colorful Mexican town is an important tour-ist attraction for Douglas. South of Agua Prieta is Angostura Dam and many picturesque Mexican villages. This part of northern Sonora is noted as a producer of cattle. Agua Prieta despite its proximity to an Arizona city is genuinely Mexican. A fortune in produce passes the line at Nogales each year. This is key port for the West coast.

Naco, south of Bisbee, is important shipping center. This port clears the vast volume of business created by the Phelps Dodge copper mines at Cananea, large mining town. Naco is an attraction for visitors in ranches around Bisbee. It has exciting history.
