ARIZONA HIGHWAYS NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Sealed bids for the construction of the Phoenix-Yuma Highway, Federal Aid Project No. 71 Reopened, will be received at the office of the Arizona State Highway Commission, Phoenix, Arizona, until 2:00 p. m., November 26th, 1928, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read.All bids must be marked upon outside of the envelope, "State Highway Contract, Federal Aid Project No. 71 Reopened."

The work consists of the removal of the existing steel spans and wooden pile trestle and the construction of a reinforced concrete bridge in their stead.

The project is situated about fortyfive (45) miles west of Phoenix at the end of pavement and is to be completed on or before June 30th, 1929. Hassayampa is the nearest point on the railroad.

The approximate quantities are: 950 C.Y. Excav. Struct's (Unclass.) 1,200 C. Y. Concrete. 142,000 Lbs. Rein. Steel. 28 Roller Bridge Seats. Removing old concrete. Dismantling steel spans. Removing wooden pile trstle. And other incidental items.

All bids shall be accompanied by an unendorsed, certified or cashier's check not less than 5% of the gross amount of the bid, payable to the State Treasurer of Arizona.

The Arizona State Highway Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

Copies of the plans and specifications may be seen at the office of the State Engineer, Phoenix, Arizona, or may be obtained from the State Engineer upon the payment of Ten Dollars ($10.00), which will be returned to the contractor should the plans and specifications be returned within ten (10) days after the opening of bids.

The bidder will be required to comply with the provisions of the specifications and contract in the bidding and the award and execution of the contract.

It is to be noted that the contractor is required to furnish all materials for a complete work.
