ARIZONA HIGHWAYS 'A'touring We Will Go' LEGEND

In this scenic wonderland and Nature's treasure house we call Arizona, one can go in almost any direction and enjoy mile after mile, day after day, of sheer travel delight. You can travel the broad, fast highways or loiter along the vagrant byways. As your trip unfolds you'll see a lot of country and, we are sure, you'll have a lot of fun. As befits one of America's most important tourist states, we offer you comfortable accommodations along our main roads and in almost every community. Part of a vacation tour, we feel, is to be comfortable at the end of a day's trip. We offer you comfort in all price ranges. So, then, without further pause at touring we will go..

Our guides on the particular tour we feature this month are Writer Joyce Muench and Photographer Josef Muench, long time contributors to these pages, who have traveled Arizona for some twenty-two years and know as much about our state as anyone we have met.

Their tour for us is a pleasant one beginning at Monument Valley and ending way down south on the border at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. Assuming you have a two-week vacation, their suggested tour for you is for ten wonderful days in this state, giving you two days to get here and two days to return home. We think you'll enjoy traveling with the Muenches.

In another feature this month we bring you Dick Wick Hall, the founder of Salome, whose homespun humor earned him name and fame far beyond the borders of his own small bailiwick, far beyond the borders of our own state. His untimely death stilled the achievements of a truly great man... R.C.
