GRAND CANYON U.S. HIGHWAY. Williams to Grand Canyon, 63 miles, Tourists now making this trip are able to travel over several miles of the new road, which is in excellent condition. Driving time, two hours and fifteen minutes, from Williams to Grand Canyon. Maine to Grand Canyon, 65 miles graded road, unsurfaced. Not good in wet weather. Inquire White Garage or Bank at Williams or Maine Station before traveling these roads. Entrance fee at Grand Canyon $1.00 per car.

PRESCOTT-JEROME AND OAK CREEK ROAD. Prescott to Jerome 33 miles, mountain road, gravel surfaced, excellent. Gravel surfaced through Clarkdale to Sedona 24 miles fair condition. Steep grades and sharp curves through Oak Creek Canyon to Flagstaff 29 miles. Oak Creek Canyon to Flag-staff 29 miles. Oak Creek Canyon section in fair condition. Very scenic highway.

GLOBE TO COOLIDGE DAM. Turn southeast from Globe highway six miles east of Globe. New road to Coolidge Dam, 19 miles, excellent condition.

The eastern section between Coolidge Dam and U.S. 180 under construction, not open to traffic.

NOGALES TO TOMBSTONE, S. 82 Nogales to Tombstone 75 miles. Nogales to Patagonia 23 miles, gravel surfaced. To Sonoita, 12 miles gravel surfaced. Fairbanks 31 miles. To Tombstone Junction 4 miles, U. S. 80, excellent highway.

VAIL JUNCTION TO SONOITA, 28 MILES. Gravel surfaced, excellent.

ARIZONA HIGHWAYS

CORONADO TRAIL, S. 71-Solomonville to Clifton, 26 miles, gravel sur-faced, very good. Clifton to Springerville 126 miles, narrow mountain road, sharp curves and steep grades, very scenic highway. Rosepeak to Greenlee County line passable but not advisable, on account of frequent snow storms. Coronado Trail is open to traffic, but due to frequent snow storms on this route, tourists should make inquiry at the Clifton Chamber of Commerce.

BENSON-WILLCOX AND STEINS, 97 MILES. Cross tracks at depot, surfaced road 1.5miles. Graded dirt road one mile to San Pedro river. Rough, partly graded road to top of Mesa, followed by 10 miles good road through Texas Canyon. To Dragon 18 miles; Cochise 10 miles, Willcox 11 miles (4 miles rough, peer condition. Balance in good condition).

CASA GRANDE-GILA BEND, S. 84, 63 MILES. Partially improved, rough. Passable except in wet weather.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids for the construction of the Ashfork-Kingman Highway, Federal Aid Project No. 80-A will be received until 2:00 P. M., May 14th, 1929, and publicly opened and read at the office of the Arizona State Highway Commission at Phoenix, Arizona.

All proposals must be marked upon the outside of the envelope "State Highway Contract Ashfork-Kingman Highway, F. A. Project No. 80-A."

The work consists of the construction of approximately 16 miles of graded, drained and part surfaced road, involving approximately: 82,600 C. Y. Excavation Roadway (Un-class) 3,000 C. Y. The nearest shipping points are Peach Springs and Nelson.

A representative of the Arizona Highway Department will be available at Peach Springs to show contractors over the project.

All bids shall be accompanied by an unendorsed, certified or cashier's check not less than 5% of the gross amount of the bid, payable to the State Treasurer of Arizona.

The Arizona State Highway Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

Copies of the plans and specifications may be seen at the office of the State Engineer, Phoenix, Arizona, or may be obtained from the State Engineer upon the payment of Ten ($10.00) Dollars, which will be returned to the contractor should the plans and specifications be returned within ten (10) days after the opening of bids.

The bidder will be required to comply with the provisions of the specifications and contract in the bidding and the award and execution of the contract.

It is to be noted that the contractor is required to furnish all materials for a complete work.
