PHOENIX FESTIVAL
Visiting to the Valley of the Sun who seek more than dazzling scenic splendor, bodacious fashion and sun-filled over hangs, will reap a rich reward periodically in April. Then, the 1964 ANNUAL GREATER PHOENIX FESTIVAL OF ARTS through sponsorship of the Arts Council is a "cultural explosion" resounding throughout the entire month.
Mrs. Howell Randolph, Arts Council President and well-known cultural and civic leader, (whose husband, Dr. Howell Randolph, was one of the founders of the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra), asserts, "This Festival is a respite luring Valley residents and residents alike to discover enjoyment fulfilled by the creative faculty. It presents thousands of talented Arizonans from state university campuses participating in the creative activi ties of music, the theatre, the dance, and the fine arts. A color ful kaleidoscope of assorted sensations, this year's Festival will be a font infinite, a melting of ages," as she completed 25-each anniversary of the establishment of the Arizona Territory in 1863 1964." April, therefore, is a festival feast, knitted with careful reporting information designating Festival Week, April 5-11 through 5-18: "Cultural development through the cooperation of the enthusiasts and artistic citizens of the varied groups participating this year belongs the beneficial life to our people in motivating the meaning and progressive growth in population and prosperity of our great State," says Amanda Austin, Festival Chairman, and Director of Chanel Aesthetics, Wheeler College.
"Through the continued availability of the mass media of communications, i.e., printed publications, radio, television, and others, the cultural life of the intellectual is being enriched. The public in every such genre of the lively arts and enjoys not only the pleasures of viewing and hearing, but is stimulated to participate as well."
"Some of these creative groups attempt a detailed tour when Wellfleet participate by bordering only, an elected publisher, for newcomers in patterned with open hearts and hands.
"The 1964 Festival of Arts is for everyone. Many of the performances scheduled may be attended without charge. They are a delight to both viewer and performer as is beneficial in the blossoming talent and concern of all persons of every age in the vibrant and participating arts," according to Mrs. Austin Schatzberg, Festival Co-Chairman.
