ARIZONA REPRESENTATIVES SEEK CONVENTION OF UNITED SPANISH WAR VETERANS HERE IN 1931.

(Continued from page 11) Significance of Arizona's glorious sunshine, the effort will be well worth while.

One of the mining companies of the state has already voluntarily contributed a fund sufficient for the preliminary notice to the 1220 camps in the order, and letters seeking their support for the effort have been sent to them. These letters contained literature, advertising the Grand Canyon and the Apache Trail.

The Arizona contingent to Denver will need some financial support and encouragement from the other business men or organizations in the state, in order to carry on an advertising campaign at the Denver Encampment, and will need a ton or so of advertising matter from the different communities in the state.

The Legislature of Colorado appropriated $15,000 for the Denver meeting and the total cost of one of these gatherings is estimated to be approximately $30,000.

The Republic of Cuba appropriated fifty thousand pesos for the Havana Encampment in 1928. These communities evidently consider the matter a good investment and Phoenix and Arizona have now reached a state of development and growth that warrants the asking for an encampment of the United Spanish War Veterans.
