Parised Be A Man Named Ross Stefan

Praised Be A Man Named Ross Stefan.
The West of today has no more expressive painter than Ross Stefan, an artist who truly understands the land and the people of the Southwest country where he has lived and worked for almost a quarter of a century. He has distinguished himself by glorifying the commonplace things of the everyday West - cowboys, horses, the Indian, mountains and ranch scenes. His paintings portray the peaceful way of life no shoot-ups, no stage hold-ups, no longhorns, rodeos or cattle drives of yesteryears.
Ross Stefan lives and works in Tucson, and we are proud to present this young artist who has to be ranked as one of the masters in this golden age of expressionists of the American West.
His works are in every significant collection, and his shows are sell-out in the foremost galleries of the Southwest. With his first major showing scheduled for the Grand Central Art Galleries in New York, in mid-January, followed by bookings across the nation, it's a sure bet that the best of the West of Ross Stefan is yet to be seen.
The day I journeyed to Tucson to deliver the script for our Christmas issue was one I'll never forget. Ross was ready with a projector and God knows how many hundred slides of his works. Outdoors the mountains, sky and desert looked like a Ross Stefan masterpiece. It was no day to spend in a darkened room viewing several hundred slides...not even Ross Stefan's.
"No show, Ross," I said, "I came to you because I believe you are the only artist I know who can feel what Marvin Weese has written. Get your souls together and send me six or seven..."
Praised be the souls blessed with greatness.
