Retrospective

Approaching our 1974 Journey's end, the vista from our rimtop view point gives us a wide-angle "flashback" of the road over which we have come. Our 1974 Journey has been "up-grade" all the way...in spirit, effort and a measure of success beyond our fondest plans and expectations.

A rumor known as "the energy crisis" caused us to change our usual route and itinerary. We went from the official Highways, speeds and standard time to a program attuned to Indian trails, Indian ways and Indian time. We made thousands of new friends and are sorry to have missed a few others who preferred the "old" Highways.

It is always joyful and rewarding to see old friends who have been with us for many Christmas celebrations: Ted De Grazia, Esther Henderson, Josef and David Muench, Bob Bradshaw, Earl Petroff, Allen Reed, Carlos Elmer, Willis Peterson, Darwin Van Campen and Herb and Dorothy McLaughlin. This year our guest list includes Jerry Landis, George McCullough, Bill McKinney, Earl Carpenter, Jim Reynolds, Clark Hulings, John Clymer, Robert Rishell, Ray Swanson, Jim Abeita, Manual Lepe and Ford Ruthling.

We raise our glasses of the finest California wine in a toast for Grace Hudson. For our contributing guests, giving and receiving is a year 'round necessity. In keeping with the season we can only exchange equal measures of best wishes and harmonious relations for the coming year.

We are especially grateful to Tom Cooper for guiding us through "Arizona After Dark." There is no standard by which we can declare our esteem and appreciation to the people at W. A. Krueger, and especially to Joseph Krainz for his warm human interest in the measure of our success.
