Phoenix In Season

As Old Winter stalks Everywhere, America, the Sun Living Season is just coming to life in Phoenix, with a variety of things to do and places to be. Culturally, the city looks to the Heard Museum, one of the foremost havens of anthropology and primitive art, and the Phoenix Art Museum, which just turned twenty-five and annually is host to the Cowboy Artists of America Exhibition and Sale. Each is a national-caliber institution in its own right, originating important shows which travel to prestigious museums. Together the two give the city its artistic center, a full, rich complement of the visual arts. And the Phoenix Symphony adds still another cultural dimension to the scene, as does the Arizona Theatre Company, a leader in the development of the performing arts. It's a nationally recognized resident acting company based both in Phoenix and Tucson. Besides culture and the arts, Phoenix offers miles of hours of leisure time and many out-of-doors activities which go with warm days soaked with sunshine and cool nights awash with stars. - Pam Hait
