How are we driving? In Arizona, pretty well, according to a new study.

The study by QuoteWizard found that Arizona drivers are the fourth-best in the country, behind only Michigan, Mississippi and Oklahoma, ABC15 reported last week.

For the rankings, QuoteWizard used data from its users, along with information from the Federal Highway Administration. It looked at the number of accidents, speeding tickets, DUIs, citations and fatalities in each state.

On the other end of the spectrum, Arizona's western neighbor, California, has the fourth-worst drivers in the country, according to the study. The three worse than California were Maine, South Carolina and Nebraska, QuoteWizard said.

While such rankings can be fun to debate, they also can make a difference when it comes to car insurance rates, since insurance companies take your location into account when quoting your policy, QuoteWizard said.
