Sandhill cranes congregating at Whitewater Draw Wildlife Area in Southern Arizona this winter are getting a worldwide audience.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department is providing a live stream of the wildlife area, so if you can't make it down there this winter, you can look for the migratory birds from the comfort of your home. To view the live stream, click here.

The department announced last month that the recently debuted sandhill crane camera has already received upgrades, including an audio receiver, a quality high-definition picture and better streaming speeds.

Game and Fish says the best time to look for the cranes is right around sunrise. The birds then leave the roost to feed, but they return in the late morning and stay there for the rest of the day.

The live stream, offered as part of the department's Watchable Wildlife Program, will continue until March or early April, when the birds migrate to their northern nesting grounds. Some of the birds that spend winters in Arizona come from as far away as Siberia, the department says.
