I took this photo of a burrowing owl along the conveyance channel as the sun was setting, capturing a golden, glowing halo around the head of the owl. I burned the background area around the owl a bit to bring out the glow, and did some dodging in the eyes to bring out the bright yellow that is found in them.

My photo was taken around sunrise in November. The mornings were chilly and the afternoons on Plateau Point just a hair warmer. At the top of the canyon, my group and I found the Plateau Point trail off in the distance; too beautiful not to take a photo!

This photo is an Arizona Gray Squirrel mid leap from branch to branch. I loved taking this photo because the lighting was great and the squirrel was right above me.

I took this photo while trying to create a portrait for one of my classmates, I really like how I captured the wasp (I think it's called the yellow paper wasp) landing on delicate purple flowers. The contrast between the flowers and the wasp, excluding the colors, is really cool because it shows the sweetness from the flowers and the aggressive nature of the wasp.

My favorite part of this picture is the contrast between the prickly pear fruit, and the paddle of the cactus. I took this picture at my school, not long after the prickly pear fruit was at it's peak.
