ARIZONA HIGHWAYS Greetings

The completion of the Grand Canyon Bridge, spanning the Colorado River at Marble Gorge, a part of the Grand Canyon in northern Arizona, connects the transcontinental north and south highway of Arizona, known as U. S. Highway No. 89. This highway starts from the southern boundary of Arizona at Nogales and goes north via Tucson, Phoenix, Prescott, Ash Fork, Flagstaff, Cameron and over the bridge, entering the State of Utah on the northern boundary near Fredonia and continues on to Salt Lake City, Utah. The completion of the Grand Canyon Bridge was a great engineering feat, and the construction a hazardous undertaking.

The development of U. S. Highway No. 89 from Flagstaff north over the Grand Caanyon Bridge to the Utah State line will open up the very heart of the playground of northern Arizona, offering, not only to the people of Arizona but to the country as a whole,, an opportunity to visit the many places of interest and view the wonders of Nature and dwellings of prehistoric people. You can stand on the brink of the chasm of the Grand Canyon and view with awe one of the wonders of the wor'd; you can visit the Painted Desert which no artist can excel in beauty and scenic pictureesqueness and other attractions too numerous to mention.

To those who visit our progressive State of Arizona, we extend to one and all a hearty welcome may your stay in the state be a pleasant vacation and make such lasting impression that you will decide to make Arizona your home.
