hoto Adventures Celebrity Hosts Join Next Year's Friends' Scenic Tours

A pint-size daredevil who regularly risks life and limb writing stories for the magazine, another scribe who discovered a secret in her own family tree while writing about Pancho Villa, and an editor who never hits the road without a compass pinned to his shirt are among the celebrity hosts who will bring their special insight and sense of adventure and fun to 1995's Friends of Arizona Highways' Scenic Tours to the state's top attractions. Marilyn Taylor, who always says yes to assignments requiring her to do things like jump out of a plane or plumb bottomless caves, will host a Yuma tour in April that includes ancient petroglyph sites, historic Yuma Crossing, and something she knows more about than she wants to: the dreaded Yuma Territorial Prison. Author Rose Houk will join a May Rim-to-Rim hike of the Grand Canyon. Taking advantage Of her two years as a ranger-naturalist at the Canyon, Houk will focus on the Vermilion Cliffs, Indian Gardens, and the legendary Phantom Ranch.

When fall color is at its burnished best, Pancho Villa expert Kathleen Walker, a writer and television producer who was educated in Mexico, will escort
