This week, the Arizona Department of Transportation is beginning a series of public "workshops" to get input on the future of transportation in the state.

ADOT's Long Range Transportation Plan identifies priorities based on current and expected funding over the next 25 years, the department said in a news release. The plan is updated every five years, and these workshops are the first step in the next update, ADOT said.

ADOT Director John Halikowski said the update to the plan will help "ensure Arizona has a transportation system that carries us forward."

If you'd like to attend one of the 11 "Think Ahead About Transportation" workshops, the current list of dates, times and locations is below. Additional workshops will be scheduled for the Phoenix area, ADOT said.
