Desert View Watchtower at the Grand Canyon will expand its role as a cultural site.

The historic watchtower is located near the east entrance of the Canyon, and provides expansive views of the Painted Desert and the Little Colorado River.

In 2015, the National Park Service turned it into a cultural heritage site where visitors can learn about Native American culture. Now, the park has signed off on expanding that program.

The Grand Canyon is planning to add exhibits, demonstrations and opportunities for visitors to interact with tribal members and artists.
