From the issue: "'Woods Canyon Lake' by Charles C. Niehuis. ... The photographer says: 'The camera was set up on a tripod for several hours. I had to take it down twice and run for cover because of thunder showers. The camera was prefocused on the ground glass, then left standing on the tripod. I was waiting for a boat to pass into the opening. Several did, but each was encased in a heavy shadow, but then, finally, a boat came into a sun spot for a brief moment — but long enough for me to make an exposure.'"
