Meet National Geographic’s Joel Sartore and Support Animal Rescue — Friday, October 16
Discover the breathtaking beauty of wildlife and the epic stories behind the work of iconic National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore. The Phoenix Zoo invites you to an exclusive evening focused on the beauty of wildlife and how we can protect it for generations to come.
Sartore is the visionary founder of the Photo Ark, a groundbreaking effort to document every species on Earth and inspire people to take action and support the survival of endangered animals. His striking, up-close and intimate portraits highlight the unique personalities of every animal, from towering carnivores to the smallest of insects.
The evening features an inspiring presentation by the artist himself, up-close animal encounters, appetizers and beverages. Attendees will also visit the Zoo’s Savanna Gallery, located in the Savanna Grill, to view the curated indoor exhibition, Joel Sartore: An ARCC Toward a Better Future.
Your attendance directly fuels critical wildlife protection. All event proceeds support the Doornbos Animal Rescue and Care Center (Doornbos ARCC) at the Phoenix Zoo. This dedicated facility provides vital quarantine space, medical treatment and expert, compassionate care for wildlife rescued from trafficking and animals transitioning in or out of the Zoo.
One of the largest non-profit zoos in the country, the Phoenix Zoo is home to over 3,000 animals, including nearly 400 who are endangered or threatened. When you enjoy the exciting up-close wildlife experiences at the Zoo, you support wildlife care and protection. Every visit and event funds the Phoenix Zoo’s critical conservation initiatives and the expert, compassionate care of its animals.
