Northern Cardinal (Male)

A couple of cardinals nested in my backyard. I was able to enjoy photographing them as they flew between the saguaros and the mesquite trees.

I visited this nest several times looking to capture the interaction between the young owls. On this day, I was lucky to capture mom in the nest with the three young ones.

On this day, the herons were abundant at the Gilbert Water Ranch. However, capturing them in flight with good light and a good background was still a challenge. After many tries, I captured this one.
