Every month we showcase the most talented photographers in the world. Now it's your turn to join the ranks. Enter your favorite photo in the 2027 Arizona Highways Photography Contest.
Winning photographs will be published online and in the September 2027 issue. In addition, the grand-prize winner will receive accommodations for four nights for two guests at the Circle Z Ranch, a guest ranch in Patagonia, Arizona.
Our contest is open to amateur and professional photographers. All photos must be made in Arizona and fit into the category of Landscape, Wildlife or Macro (close-up).

A beautiful Great Egret fishing at the pond at Freestone Park. I capture the shot as she pierced her catch and brought it out of the water.

On a winter morning, I went to the Gilbert Riparian Preserve to photograph birds. There was mist coming off the water and a beautiful Great Egret was skimming the waters. Lucky shot.

Before the summer rains, I heard that the Big Horn sheep come to drink at Canyon Lake.
This photo was taken in the early morning hours near the dam after exploring this area by boat.

I scrambled down the cliff in the opposite side and matched the reflection with the rocks in the foreground.
I waited a few minutes post sunset until the light was right and shot this 4 shot panorama

Coyote - "The Standoff". A coyote couple walked by 30-40 feet away from me as I photographed birds from my camp chair. The male stopped to watch me for 20-30 seconds, then left when I stood up.
