Looking for that magical road trip? Imagine making lasting memories that nourish your soul. We’re talking about forest bathing in the world’s largest Ponderosa pine forest, views of the night skies so dark that they’ve earned the designation of “the world’s first dark sky city,” and cultural experiences that will have you walking within a landscape of legacies and ancient pueblos. Oh, there’s more . . . six national monuments are less than an hour drive. Arizona’s northern territory is a bit unexpected. Be prepared for cooler temperatures, bring the binoculars because the views . . . oh, the views of wildlife, sapphire skies, emerald forest, and red rocks are to behold.

Day 1 – MONUMENTS & MORE
On the day of arrival, begin the adventure at the Flagstaff Visitor Center located downtown on Route 66! You choose — the experience: National Monuments are plentiful and are a quick drive: Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater
Volcano, and Wupatki. Enjoy an evening stargazing at Lowell Observatory, where Pluto was discovered.

Day 2 – BREW-SKI
Annually receiving more than 100 inches of snowfall smack dab in the middle of historic downtown, this mountain town invites you and your family to pack your parkas, ski and board gear. Arizona Snowbowl sits at an elevation of 11,500 feet with 777 acres of skiable terrain, distant views of the Grand Canyon and a premier lesson program for all ages and abilities.

Après ski with a trek on the Flagstaff Brewery Trail or enjoy flagstaff’s foodie scene noted as a “critics’ choice” according to Phoenix Magazine. Further, the Arizona Restaurant Association presented Mother Road Brewing Company with a “Foodist Award” as a top Arizona brewery.

Day 3 – A GRAND EXPERIENCE
Spend the day at Grand Canyon National Park, only 80 miles from Flagstaff or be whirled away with experts via a professionally guided tour which includes transportation and sometimes lunch! Looking for more independence —
consider a bike rental with Bright Angel Bicycles. There are views for days — consider Shoshone Point which also has a walkable trail.
