The Indian Arts and Crafts Board (IACB) offers a Source Directory of American Indian and Alaska Native Owned and Operated Arts and Crafts Businesses that is a great resource for consumers and collectors looking to buy authentic Indian art, available at doi.gov/iacb.

Under the Indian Arts and Crafts Act (IACA), it is unlawful to offer or display for sale, or sell, any art or craft product in a manner that falsely suggests it is Indian produced, an Indian product, or the product of a particular Indian or Indian Tribe or Indian arts and crafts organization.

The IACB operates three Indian museums to promote Indian art, culture, and economies, as well as the appreciation for authentic Indian art and understanding and compliance with the IACA. The Museum of the Plains Indian, Browning, Montana; Sioux Indian Museum, Rapid City, South Dakota, and Southern Plains Indian Museum, Anadarko, Oklahoma, feature changing exhibitions of contemporary Indian artwork and displays of historic Plains Indian collections.
